When undertaking an MBA in Senior Leaders Master’s Degree Apprenticeship Emily identified the biggest barrier faced by Staffordshire County Councils ITS team:

With limited budget, struggling to maintain the assets to the required level, and to keep the assets in a safe condition, is a monotonous continual cycle which can disable innovation of the assets. Emily found that local authority colleagues were highlighting similar issues. This became the topic of Emily’s dissertation which compared how authorities manage their ITS assets primarily by interviewing multiple contacts across the industry. Her research makes various recommendations to help assist the industry and shows more effective ways of working to enable innovation. Emily presents her findings.
